| Free Landfill
Vouchers |
One
free voucher per household annually can be obtained by the
property owner at the Municipal Offices or the office at the
Nick Smith Centre during regular office hours. This
voucher is valid for one load of refuse up to one half ton
capacity (excluding tires, items with refrigerants and hazardous
waste) and expires on the 31st day of December each
year. Vouchers may be picked up by the owner of a
property at the Nick Smith Centre Monday to Friday from 10am to
9pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am to 8pm. Please
present identification verifying your name and address when
picking up your voucher. |

Landfill passes may be purchased
at the Town Hall during regular office hours or
at the Nick Smith Centre.
. Fees are based
on the size of vehicle used to haul the material to the
site. For further information contact the Municipal
Offices at 623-4231.

| Tires and Refrigerant |
Items with refrigerant
must have the refrigerant evacuated from the equipment by a
qualified technician and tagged appropriately or a refrigerant
removal sticker can be purchased from the Town Hall. This
sticker does not include the disposal fee.
Most car tires are
accepted free at the landfill site, please check with the municipal
office to see if a fee is applicable. |
| Large Garbage Items |
Household appliances
such as stoves, couches and mattresses are not picked up at the
Town's curb side collection. Residents must make their own
arrangement to have them taken away. The landfill site will
accept large household items with a landfill pass. |
| Electronic Waste |
In
an effort to reduce the amount of hazardous substances entering
the landfill, and to increase waste diversion, the Town of
Arnprior
is now separating and recycling Electronic Waste that is brought
to the landfill by residents. For details, Click

| Free Landfill Items |
Residents can drop off
cardboard, leaf and yard waste (including Christmas Trees) at the
landfill site. Please ask the attendant at the site where to
drop off these items. If leaves and yard waste are in
biodegradable paper bags, they can be placed in the area set aside
at the landfill site. If they are in plastic bags, then they
must be removed from the plastic and disposed of appropriately. |

Mon., Wed. & Fri.
9:00 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. These
hours in effect throughout the year. |
| Spring & Fall Leaf
and Yard Waste |
Spring Yard Waste Pickup is April 21, 2010. Fall
pickup is November 10, 2010. Bags must be at curb side prior
to 7:30am. Leaf and yard waste must be placed in
biodegradable paper bags, available from local merchants. No
plastic bags or other containers will be picked up. |
